Dr. Wanner-Laufer is mainly active in the counselling of medium-sized enterprises in company and tax law matters. This includes also tax litigation proceedings and advising clients regarding fiscal offences as well as helping clients in cases regarding malpractice by tax consultants.
He handles shareholder conflicts both extra-judicially and in court. Owing to his many years of practise in the office of a notary public, he has great experience in drafting contracts under company law.
Dr. Wanner-Laufer takes a very close look at the connection between structures under company law and the related tax effects. He says: "It is impossible to deal properly with company law affairs without checking the subsequent tax and accounting law effects."
Dr. Wanner-Laufer is Vice-Chairman of the Specialized Committee for Business and Company Law at the Chamber of Lawyers of Frankfurt am Main. He holds several supervisory-board mandates in joint-stock companies, including the chairmanship in a investment-managing financial-service company. He has been a member of the German-British Law Society (Deutsch-Britische Juristenvereinigung) for decades.
